Description
5/16 - 18 X 1- 3/4 Flange Bolt, reduced hex (7/16"). 1018 steel, case hardened, grade 2 Domed Head Rounded Point Cut threads Zinc Phosphate finish NOS: New Reproduction/Pre-war Fasteners made by Frederic Chelminski (CR Machine). These items are the last of my inventory: Once they are gone, they are gone. Get them while you can. These fasteners are made the way they were back when America was the king of design, manufacturing and quality. In the old days, screws, nuts and bolts were often machined from solid bar. I machined these fasteners on the same kind of machinery as well: The contours were generated with form tools which leave the correct "honest machine marks". A CNC made part will not look right. Most of the nuts and all of the bolts are High Head; the typical Head Height is equal to the nominal size of the fastener. For example, a 5/16" Screw will have a Head Height of 5/16". This is taller than the usual junk you get from the store. A lot of vintage equipment/machinery uses specially made High Head Cap Screws like this. Most of my fasteners have a Zinc Phosphate finish which resists rust and is an excellent substrate for painting over. Attention buyers: USPS (United States Postal Service) is the most popular, economic method for shipping, however I want to bring to your attention a significant flaw with the service: Sometimes Tracking information is not adequately updated, especially in the initial phases of the process. This will result in Tracking information stating, "USPS Awaiting Item", sometimes for many days, which is NOT accurate. I always ship items within 24 hours. Please DO NOT leave me a negative feedback for the poor performance of the Shipping agency! Doing so is considered an abuse, and may result in loosing the ability to purchase from me in the future.
